Abortion's Aftermath
It is normal to grieve a pregnancy loss, including the loss of a child by abortion. It can form a hole in one’s heart, a hole so deep that sometimes it seems nothing can fill the emptiness.

Your call will be treated with complete confidentiality. Project Rachel is open to any man or woman in need, regardless of their faith background.

If you or a friend are hurting from an abortion,
please call toll free to begin healing:

Your call will be treated with complete confidentiality.

Identify Feelings
Without a doubt, abortion can be one of the most traumatic experiences in a person’s life. Often with abortion, it seemed the only solution at the time. Feelings of sadness and confusion are common, not only for the woman who undergoes an abortion, but also for the man involved, relatives or friends. The pain of loss may be manifested in emotional or spiritual difficulties:

• Anger
• Grief
• Anxiety
• Guilt
• Depression
• Nightmares
• Isolation
• Panic attacks
• Relationship difficulties
• Psychological numbing
• Preoccupation with becoming pregnant again
• Re-experiencing the abortion
• Sense of alienation from God and the Church

Project Rachel Offers
A confidential healing ministry for anyone who has been impacted by abortion.

• The chance to tell your story privately and to be heard unconditionally.
• Information regarding the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual impacts of abortion.
• Referrals to professional counselors, specially trained to help you sort through unresolved feelings and conflicts related to your abortion experience.
• Referrals to priests, deacons or ministers, sensitive to your particular needs, who can assist you in spiritual healing.
• Religious or other group events may be offered on an occasional basis.
